What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Progress And Goals

Emphasis on trip is on sustainability and long-term follow up care provided by the surgeon being trained. Since our visit to Iquitos, we have performed surgeries that would have otherwise not been performed and would have resulted in the suffering of the child and eventually death.

In 2015, Dr. Duron joined Mending Kids for our first Indie Mission to Iquitos, Peru. There was a young pediatric surgeon, Dr. Alex Ponce, who had just graduated from training. The training in Peru for pediatric surgery is only 3 years compared to the US training of 8-9 years. As such, young pediatric surgeons are not equipped to handle complex cases and usually remain under the mentorship of a senior surgeon for assistance in complicated cases during the first several years of their career. As Dr. Ponce has no such assistance, many complicated cases still were referred to Lima. Compounding this, most families in Iquitos have limited resources, they often cannot afford the trip to Lima and so return to their homes with no care for an infant or child. There is also minimal knowledge or resources for pediatric laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery in Iquitos. Since Dr. Duron's visit to Iquitos, he has been training Dr. Ponce in these surgeries and continues to do so.
